Oberyn is known for being fiery and rash in canon, and everyone agrees that Oberyn is not a man to cross for whatever reason. In fact, he has a sort of notoriety for being hot-headed and passionate. This prince of Dorne is very good at holding grudges, which I will explain further below. He isn't one to hold his tongue or consider political correctness when it comes to fixing errors or pointing out flaws, much to the Lannisters dismay when he used to sit on the Small Council. He is harsh with his words when it comes to telling the truth, which he will almost always certainly tell. While he definitely does act on impulse, most, if not all, of his impulses are fueled by a desire to accomplish something. Mediocrity does not sit well with Oberyn.
He is also a very lusty man, which is hardly secret. It's rumored that Oberyn is bisexual and sleeps with anyone he likes. While he does keep a paramour and has had four daughters with her, it's certainly not out of his territory to still have sex with anyone else. It's also implied to a point that he and his paramour are willing to try anything sexually, so he's basically down to fuck whenever, however, as long as everyone is into it.
Oberyn is also extremely shrewd, and, by the same token, very secretive when necessary. Out of his anger for his sister's rape and murder, and her children's death, Oberyn and his brother Doran had planned for many years in secret to overthrow the Baratheon line and to utterly destroy the Lannister family from the inside out. The Lannisters are included in his wrath because it was The Mountain, a man in service to the Lannisters and the Baratheons (whom were married), who committed these unforgivable acts against his sister and her children. Impulsive he may be, but Oberyn takes after his brother in some ways through his tactical prowess. It may be easy to say that Oberyn is the brawn of the Martell brothers, while Doran, his older brother, is the brains. He is a man of action, loathe to wait for the opportune moment unless there is a greater reward to be had.
His intellect is its own force to be reckoned with. In canon, to be a maester requires a certain gift for adaptiveness and a willingness to learn a variety of difficult subjects and arts. A new link is forged in a maester's chain to show what a trainee has learned and how he is progressing in his skills. Oberyn had actually forged a few links on his own chain before decided that becoming a maester was far too boring and left the Citadel. This shows that not only does he have the intellect to learn nearly anything he sets his mind to, he also gets bored easily and would rather move onto something else. He doesn't like to linger for too long unless it holds his interest.
Oberyn is also a natural leader and lives for the fight. He formed his own mercenary company after having been with the Second Sons, a very well-known mercenary company, for some time. His leadership skills not only work in his favor with his mercenary company, but with his own daughters, as they staunchly rally around him not only out of love for their father, but for his ideals and capacity to lead. Part of this is owed to his unofficial exile, but he made the most of this time by traveling the world and giving himself a far better life than likely anyone else in exile would have bothered to make. It can be said that Oberyn can make the very best out of nearly any situation and twist it into something that serves him or his family's best interests.
Oberyn keeps his family very close, as witnessed by the fact that he has doggedly pursued vengeance upon the death of his sister. It's highly unusual for any nobleman to claim bastards, but Oberyn has claimed eight in total, his oldest four from four different women, and his youngest four from his current paramour. While it's never explicitly stated, it's not unlikely that it was Oberyn who trained his four oldest in different arts of war, be it combat like Obara or poisons like Tyene. He looked after all of his daughters like true heirs, even allowing them to live in the palace. He may have come and gone, but he never left behind his family. His four oldest daughters continue to work in his name even after death because of the love he showed them.

Truth be told, Oberyn had little idea of what the afterlife truly held. There were the words, of course, written to comfort the dying who had a good life, or to damn those who had committed grave sins against the Seven. Perhaps somewhere he had found himself among those who held a damnable life.
But to find himself in a land that claimed to be of gods, that would certainly be a very new experience for him. The faceless maids and others informed him of his his inability to leave, which hardly bothered him. Oberyn had nowhere to go now.
He shook his head, running a hand through his hair. The shape of his head was intact.
Curious.
All of those around him went about with stern expressions and some sort of intent. None answered his questions, much to his annoyance, but he'd find his answers somehow. With his spear pointed downwards, he moved forward... or what they allowed him to move at least.

In Character Information
character name: Oberyn Martell, aka The Red Viper
Fandom: Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire
Timeline: Post-death
character's age: Mid-30s
powers, skills, pets and equipment:
Oberyn is an extremely skilled horseman and is a master of weapons, though he prefers using a spear to all other weapons. It's known that he's skilled with poisons, hence his nickname the Red Viper, and is very well-educated due to his training at the Citadel (a place where maesters, people of great knowledge, train young men in various areas of study).
He'll be taking with him his spear, though it will not be coated with poison as it was in the fight, and his armor.
The powers he'll gain are poison touch (ranging from mild poison to extreme poison, controllable unless the Mist acts up), and poison absorption.
canon history:
Here!
personality:
Oberyn is known for being fiery and rash in canon. He isn't one to hold back his tongue if he knows something is wrong or something needs to be fixed. He is harsh with his words when it comes to telling the truth, which he will almost always certainly tell. While he definitely does act on impulse, most, if not all, of his impulses are fueled by a desire to accomplish something.
He is also extremely shrewd and learned about a great variety of things. In canon, he and his brother had planned to overthrow Robert Baratheon (the former king) and to destroy the Lannisters in secret. Just because he is rash doesn't mean he doesn't know how to stop himself when it's necessary. His intellect and natural gift for learning new things have made him a force to be reckoned with in a political aspect. It's important to note, though, that he is the kind to attack things head on, instead of waiting for the opportune moment like his brother.
Like his preferred weapon, the spear, Oberyn verbally attacks with quick, precise jabs at people. He may not know off the bat what ticks someone off, but when he figures it out, he will use it as part of his arsenal to gain an advantage if need be. He will judge very harshly and will let someone know without remorse that they are clearly doing something wrong.
Oberyn keeps his family very close, as witnessed by the fact that he has doggedly pursued vengeance upon the death of his sister. He has eight bastard daughters and he has trained them all in different styles of fighting. This shows that not only he cares for them deeply, it also shows he has enough trust and faith in them to know how to handle a weapon. I would also say this shows that, unlike most men in Westeros, he treats women with a deep respect and doesn't doubt their ability to be just as good, if not better, than men even in combat. I would say he wants them to be able to defend themselves and be independent, something he greatly values.
why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting?
For starters, he already has castmates, so that's definitely a plus. Oberyn is a shrewd man capable of fighting and manipulating things to work in his favor, so I think that his capacity to fight back and survive will help him live in Anatole. Oberyn, in canon, is known to have traveled the world, so his natural curiosity, insatiable apetite for adventure and most likely innate sense of direction will help him figure out the world.

length of time there: 4 months
important development and/or events in your previous game:
Oberyn learned of the treachery he was not completely involved with from Westeros, and grew sympathetic towards the Starks, though he spoke little with them. From the brief moments he spoke with Sandor Clegane, he learned he was not like his brother, though he still holds somewhat of a grudge towards him. Guilt by association and all that. He had intentions of starting a mercenary company and spoke with several interested in this, and he still wants to gather up a small band of men and women willing to sell their skills. He held a friendship with Giovanni Auditore, seeing as that he was not unlike his brother and was also a banker.
As a whole, his time in Anatole made him less judgmental of those around him, but it doesn't mean he won't tell them off or make an offhand remark about them or their pasts, if he's aware of it. Things are not quite so black and white to him anymore, though he still has a tendency to view things as such.
notes: From his last time in Anatole, he's gained new powers. I'm placing this on the fact that he comes in after death and as such, the Mist changed things appropriately.

[Oberyn grimaces at the Forge, but only for a few moments.]
Ah, Anatole, how I have missed you. Though, I do suppose you have not changed at all from the last time I was here.
[A light sigh.]
Should I also assume none of my daughters or my paramour are here?
Third Person Sample:
Oberyn knew the city rather well by now, whether fortunately or unfortunately. He held his spear loose, but in such a manner that he could use it offensively or defensively easily. This time, though, there were people that he did not recognize, or just barely knew. Normal, of course, for a place like this. People came and people went, just as the door pleased.
Having to walk around the city on foot was only mildly annoying to him. He had his sand steed the last time around, after all. But it was only fitting, he supposed, he did not have his horse when he was last in Westeros. He was pleased, though, to find that he still had his spear and was wearing his armor.
The battle. He ran his fingers through his long hair. It was as if nothing ever happened, as if he had won. Strange how this place worked, taking men and women from their deaths. He would have won, and in the end, he did win. As he lifted his spear to look at the sharp edge, he smirked. There was no smell or look of the poison on it, but he knew there was no escaping it.
The Red Viper. They would soon learn how far he would go to find the justice he had been seeking for years. And while his heart and his mind filled with thoughts of his children and his paramour, Oberyn was still satisfied with his work. The outcomes were not what he expected, but in the end, did it matter? He won the justice his sister deserved.
With keen eyes, he observed the city. He was looking for his former residence now, assuming his things were already stolen or sold by now. Not that he had much to begin with. As long as he had his spear, he would make do.
Anything else? Since Oberyn was gone for a very short time (lol self), will he have memories of his time in Anatole?
